Alright. So. MJ obviously had a(n) special/unique/unclear place in everyone’s heart. As for me, there’s good reason for that special/unique/unclear place, most importantly, (1) Dangerous was the second cassette tape I ever purchased (after Kriss Kross’ Totally Krossed Out at age 7, no big deal), and (2) “Man in the Mirror” is quite simply lyrical genius and contains one of the best late-song key changes in pop music. Just to name a few.
So first off, here’s one of my current favorite artists putting together a really great instrumental of “Human Nature” during the world-famous memorial service (on which the Sports Guy (aka Bill Simmons) made some thought-provoking comments. In a good way.):
SECOND, in the spirit of honoring the comedy of Dave Chappelle (who may currently be Comedy’s [with a capital “c”] biggest under-tapped resource), let’s look back at the golden age of “Chappelle’s Show” for some perspective on some of MJ’s woes.

The R. Kelly commentary is just a bonus.
As always, thanks for stopping by (San Diego). More posts to follow.
